Nevada Gay Men's Chorus, Inc.

Changing the world, one note at a time

The Nevada Gay Men's Chorus, Inc. was founded to put a face to the gay community and to change the world through music, education, and culture-- building tolerance, understanding and acceptance. Our goal; to change the world through music, one note at a time; because you can't fight if you're are singing.

The Nevada Gay Men's Chorus, inc. (
NVGMC)  held its opening concert for its  2011-2012 season, Oh! Christmas Tree, Songs of the Season, on December 10, 2011, ending with a thunderous standing ovation and cries for Encore! Encore! at the historic Trinity Episcopal Church, on the river, in downtown Reno.

In Sepetember 2011, the Nevada Gay Men's Chorus, inc. filed with the Nevada Secretary of State as a domestic non-profit corporation.  NVGMC is operated by a board of directors elected by the membership and friends of the chorus.  The NVGMC season runs from September to August, hosting three concerts (Christmas/Holiday, Spring and Pride) and a Gala Affair, its major fund raiser.

The Nevada Gay Men's Chorus is pleased to announce Ted Owens stepped forward and volunteered his time to serve as interim conductor.

The Nevada Gay Men's Chrous, Inc. is a proud member of GALA Choruses, an international group of GLTBIQA choruses mixed, men, women, youth  and ensembles who promote music as a way to change the world.  The GALA Choruses host an international conference once every four years, bringing 6.500 singers together. In July 2012, the GALA Choruses will be in Denver, Colorado.  Being new members of the GALAChoruses, NVGMC will not participate in the 2012 festival.

The chorus  is open to all male singers regardless of race, creed, color, or sexual orientation. Members are being sought for the chorus. The chorus is an auditioned group, broken into tenors, baritones and basses. Any male who enjoys singing is welcome. You can email:
Nevadagmc@gmail.com for more information.

Rehearsals are held weekly, usually lasting 12 to 14 weeks before a performace date.   Concerts, this season, will be one night only.
